Welcome to Pangthem Living  (Pronounced: ‘pɑ:ŋ-θem’)

I come from Pushing village, in the Kamjong district of Manipur—a scenic yet remote place surrounded by pine-covered mountains and grassy hills. It’s beautiful, but it’s also isolated. We still don’t have proper roads, and life here comes with its own set of challenges. Yet, in the midst of it all, there is quiet resilience, especially among the women.

My mother is one of them. Like many others, she has woven through hardship and seasons, using her skill not only to create beauty but also to support our family. She has passed down her knowledge to many in our village, teaching not just technique but strength and perseverance.

After completing my Bachelor's in Home Science, I pursued an MBA in Hospitality Management, which gave me valuable insights into running a business and understanding customer experience. Around that time, I received an opportunity to work as cabin crew—a role that opened doors to the world and deepened my appreciation for people, places, and aesthetics. I went on to work in a resort, in the diamond grading industry, and even received an offer to manage a company abroad.

But my heart kept returning to home.

What started as Pangthem India has now grown into Pangthem Living. Pangthem means “handiwork” in Tangkhul, my mother tongue. The name reflects our roots—and our intention. In 2025, after attending entrepreneurial cohorts that helped shape and sharpen our purpose, we reimagined the brand to reflect a deeper commitment — not just to crafts, but to the lives behind them, and the life they bring into your home.
